Where do I even begin!
On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January 2019 we hosted our spectacular open weekend.
As you can imagine lots of planning goes into these events. We hold several meetings leading up to the open days where our creative minds come together and determine our theme and structure for the event. This time around we wanted guests to experience the Hall by day and by night – ‘Your Hall from day to Nightfall’.
Saturday we showcased the ceremony room and OH MY, it looked beautiful! Kelly Louise and her team highlighted just how beautiful the Ballroom is. Stunning hand tied chair bouquets, an aisle adorned with candles and a dreamy flower arrangement draped over our hand carved fireplace made the Ballroom come alive for all of our guests to experience what it might just feel like to say ‘I do’ at Tyn Dwr Hall.
Sunday was all about the party! The Tyn Dwr team transformed the ceremony room into an incredible evening reception. Everyone was blown away with how amazing the Ballroom looked. The entertainment by Paul G Roadshow and Big Guy Small gave you shivers they were that electric! Uplit Events provided a sparkly dancefloor which no one was shy of dancing on (especially the wedding team!). Wild Garlic served samples of their mouth-watering Disco Fries and BFC which are two of the most popular evening food choices. The lights were dimmed and candlelight filled each room creating a sense of magic throughout the Hall. All of these elements brought together let guests experience what it will be like to dance the night away on their wedding day.
From the moment guests arrived at Tyn Dwr Hall they were welcomed by a member of our team. Guests were directed to walk around the path where they viewed our fairy tale yew tree cottage. They then continued along the path to where you see the true beauty of the building and where you really fall in love with your Hall. Guests then headed to our fabulous glamping village where Big Guy Small were delighting onlookers with their festival vibe.
By the time guests enter the main Hall they are completely blown away… We love seeing the expression in people’s faces!
As guests enter the Hall they are overwhelmed with its beauty and charm. Andrew Price, the extremely talented Pianist and Rosie the Harpist created the perfect romantic atmosphere.
Guests were then welcomed with a glass of fizz and a friendly hello from the wedding team. These ladies just LOVE catching up with all of their booked couples and talking through plans with couples that have just started their wedding journey. They are experts in their field and help couples bring their dream wedding to life!
Upstairs in the Hall we opened our opulent suites; and this time around we had a few surprises! We had Pure Perfection Clinic demonstrating facials and offering skin care advice. The ladies are full of knowledge and so friendly! One of the team, Cheryl, actually got married at the Hall last March so was very excited to share her experience with all of the couples!
Matthew Oliver lent us a stunning wedding dress which made all of us married women want to get married again! Matthew is a true gentleman and will see you in your dream dress instantly!
In our Dressing Room we had the wonderful Lizzie Griffiths demonstrating her undeniable makeup skills. Lizzie is a complete natural and we love working with her as do all of her bridal parties! Jemma Stenning was also working her magic demonstrating her talent for wedding hair – a true professional!
Downstairs in our charming Dickens Bar our infamous team member Ffion was offering examples of our thirst-quenching cocktails which went down a treat!
Over the weekend the Garden Room looked INCREDIBLE! Kelly lousie certainly gave guests the wow factor with her creativity and flare for sensational floral design. In centre stage was a blooming 15ft blossom tree abundant with glistening candles. The tables surrounding the centre piece were dressed to perfection… Walking into the Garden Room was simply breath-taking.
Confetti and crumbs provided a selection of sumptuous cakes which were a work of art. This lady certainly knows how to create and bake unforgettable cakes!
The Little Paper Shop showcased a selection of their beautiful handmade stationary which didn’t go un-noticed! The attentional to detail and creativity that goes into this ladies’ work is incredible!
The Word is Love lit up the Garden Room and Ballroom with their funky signs – we particularly loved the ‘Crazy in Love’ neon sign – I’m sure this is going to be very popular in 2019!
The very talented Rondino Strings played to our guests over the weekend – the perfect background music for your big day.
We even had the super cool Barber Max Stenning showing off his blade skills – even the boys need a little bit of pampering!
Wild garlic helped us create an unforgettable weekend with their delicious canapes and evening food. Their passion for food and service is undeniable – they are amazing!
Phil the photographer behind PB Artworks captured the weekend and what an amazing job he did – thank you Phil. I’m sure lots of couples talked with Phil about their big day, he has a wealth of experience and his work is outstanding. Mathew Lloyd Videography created an unbelievable edit of the whole weekend – if you haven’t seen this already you need to check this out!
We can’t recommend Mathew enough, he has a true talent for wedding videography and is such a nice guy! Thanks for making us laugh over the weekend Mathew 😊
We wouldn’t be able to host these events without our dedicated team, they work so hard to make sure each and every detail is in place ready to blow guests away. They are always full of smiles and enthusiasm and the Hall would not be what it is without each and every member of our Tyn Dwr family <3
The open weekend felt like a dream – We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did!
One last thank you to all of the Tyn Dwr team and all of our wonderful suppliers. We came together and created MAGIC!
