Job Position:
Head of Sales and Marketing
How long have you worked for Tyn Dwr Hall?
Six months
What attracted you to the role?
I absolutely adore Tyn Dwr Hall. I’m from Llangollen and have such fond memories of the Hall—it’s always held a special place in my heart. Seeing it transformed back in 2016 made it the only place I could ever imagine getting married… and I did, in 2018!
It was the best day of mine and my husband’s life, and even now, our friends and family still talk about it. So when I heard about the opportunity to join the team, I jumped at it. I already knew that both the space and the people here would make every day feel like coming home.
What does a typical day at Tyn Dwr Hall look like for you?
My role is a little more behind the scenes than some others, but that doesn’t mean I’m not involved in the weddings themselves.
Day to day, I’m often looking through beautiful photography, reading real love stories, and researching the wedding market to keep us ahead of trends. I work hard to make sure our online presence reflects how special the venue really is, and that couples can get a sense of the magic before they even step through the doors.
On wedding days, you might find me welcoming couples on the morning of their big day, helping with the finishing touches like confetti or directing guests to their photography spots—whatever’s needed.
What is your favourite part of the job?
That’s a tricky one.
Ultimately, my goal is to get us in front of couples. I truly believe we have the best wedding venue in the UK, and my job is to help couples find us. Because once they do, I know they’ll be in the safest hands—and they’ll leave with memories to last a lifetime.
That said, I do absolutely love being there on the wedding morning. There’s such a buzz of nervous excitement, and it’s a beautiful moment watching everything they’ve dreamed about finally begin.
Can you share a memorable experience or event you’ve been part of here?
Every single one is a memorable experience because every single one is a love story restarting.
What do you believe sets Tyn Dwr Hall apart from other wedding venues?
It’s just perfect.
Want history? We’ve got it.
Prefer modern spaces? We’ve got those too.
Want a remote, peaceful setting? Done.
But want to be close enough to town, shops, hotels, and spas? Absolutely.
Looking to stay over? No problem.
Want to know your wedding is in the safest, most passionate hands? That’s us.
I honestly can’t think of another venue that ticks all the boxes quite like we do.
How do you contribute to creating a magical experience for our couples?
My role is all about helping couples understand what makes Tyn Dwr so special—from showing off the venue in all seasons to communicating the little touches that set us apart.
I aim to spark that feeling of magic from their very first interaction with us, and help keep that excitement alive right through to their big day.
What is your favourite feature or spot within Tyn Dwr Hall, and why?
Sitting on the stone step near the duck pond, with the sheep ambling in the field, the waterfall rolling behind me, and the Hall framed by the trees… it’s heaven. It’s peaceful, picturesque, and full of character—the perfect place to pause and take it all in.
Can you describe the atmosphere at Tyn Dwr Hall during a wedding?
It’s excited, fun, relaxed, and full of love. There’s a real energy on a wedding day—it’s electric. The guests settle in, the nerves start to turn into smiles, and the day begins to unfold like the most beautiful story.
What do you enjoy most about working with the Tyn Dwr Hall team?
That we’re genuinely a team. We all have our own defined roles, but we’ll always come together to make things happen—whatever’s needed.
We care about each other, and we care about the couples who walk through our doors. That creates a light and positive atmosphere, which is so important in a wedding setting.
How do you ensure that your role within the wedding is tailored to the couple’s vision?
Since I’m not as front-facing as the Wedding Managers, my role is more supportive. But whenever I do interact with couples—whether through emails, open days or visits—my job is to listen carefully and act with passion and enthusiasm for their plans.
It’s about making sure they feel seen, heard, and excited.
What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding at Tyn Dwr Hall?
Having gone through the process myself, I think I’m closer to this than most. So here’s what I’d say:
– Calm your nerves. It can feel like a lot, but remember the most important part is that the person you love will be waiting at the end of the aisle. Focus on each other.
– Have the day YOU want. Don’t worry about pleasing everyone. Sit where you want, with who you want. Take the pictures you want. Eat what you want. This is your day, and your guests will be happy just to be with you.
– Take five-minute breaks together throughout the day to pause and soak it in.
– Cut the cake and let your guests enjoy it. It’s lovely to have some to take home, but after a week of cake for breakfast… you might just regret it!
– And finally, think about the next day. Breakfast with your loved ones can be such a beautiful, gentle end to the perfect event. Consider planning a few extra touches or setting the pace so you can spend it with the people who matter most.
