Arriving at Tyn Dwr Hall

We can’t wait to welcome you to Tyn Dwr Hall! If you’re attending a wedding with us, you’ll know it’s going to be a magical day. As we’re an exclusive-use wedding venue (not a hotel), we spend the whole morning preparing the Hall and grounds for the couple’s big entrance.

That means guest arrival is strictly from 12 midday onwards – but don’t worry, if you find yourself in the area earlier, there are some lovely ways to spend your morning.

If you’re arriving between 11am and 12pm

Why not enjoy a relaxing hour just around the corner at Plas Newydd House and Gardens?

  • Open typically every day from 11am–4pm (Please check the above website to confirm. Closed between November and April – if arriving for a Wedding in their closed season, take a look at further suggestions below)

  • Beautiful house and historic gardens to wander through

  • A charming tea room (and loos if you need them!)

  • Just minutes away from Tyn Dwr Hall

It’s the perfect way to freshen up, stretch your legs and relax before heading to the Hall at 12.

Why not explore the town of Llangollen? You’ll find:

It’s a great way to enjoy the area and soak up some of the local charm before heading up the valley.

Not sure where to park? While there are lots of spaces pavement side outside the above places, it’s not guaranteed so a central and cheap place is Market Street Car Park.

If you’re arriving even earlier (or want a stress-free start)

We’d recommend staying over the night before. Llangollen has plenty of lovely options, from boutique hotels like the Wild Pheasant to cosy Airbnbs. You’ll wake up refreshed, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and arrive on time without the worry of travel delays.

FAQs for Guests

Do you have changing facilities?
Unfortunately, we don’t. If you’ve booked a room with us, we’ll help you check in as soon as possible (typically 2pm, sometimes earlier if ready). While our restrooms are beautiful, we don’t have designated dressing spaces for guests.

Can we bring a motorhome or campervan?
Sorry, no. We don’t have the insurance to allow motorhomes or campervans on site but right around the corner is the perfect camping site Ty Ucha.

Why can’t we come earlier than 12?
Because Tyn Dwr Hall is an exclusive-use wedding venue. The morning is dedicated to setting up every detail for the couple – from flowers to photographs. Many couples also choose to have private moments such as a “first look” before guests arrive. To make sure the couple’s day runs smoothly, we can only welcome guests from midday.

Can we just wait in the car park until 12?
We completely understand the thought, but we don’t want you to spend part of the wedding day sitting in your car with no access to toilets, refreshments or Wi-Fi. It’s our honour to welcome couples, their family and friends, and we want everyone to have the best possible experience from the very start.
So while we appreciate the suggestion, we kindly ask that you plan your morning so you can arrive from midday onwards. And if you do find yourself early because the traffic was lighter than expected, please make the most of our suggestions above – whether that’s enjoying a coffee in town, a stroll at Plas Newydd, or exploring the valley.
