Getting Ready at Tyn Dwr Hall: The Perfect Start to Your Wedding Day

The morning of your wedding is one of the most special, emotional, and exciting parts of your big day. It’s the calm before the celebrations, the final deep breath before you step into forever. At Tyn Dwr Hall, we understand just how important those getting-ready moments are, which is why we offer couples the flexibility to prepare in a way that feels right for them. Whether you want to get ready separately, together, or mix tradition with modernity, we have the perfect space to make your morning seamless, relaxed, and full of anticipation.

Plan 1 – Getting Ready Separately

For couples who want to keep things traditional and not see each other before the ceremony, we have the perfect setup.

  • Partner 1 will have access to our spacious Prep Room from either 8:00am or 10:00am (depending on whether there’s a wedding the day before). This bright, airy space is a dream for wedding preparations, offering plenty of natural light, a large central mirror, and a breathtaking view over the grounds—the perfect place to watch as guests and suppliers arrive.
  • The first few hours can be spent relaxing with nibbles and bubbles, enjoying fresh air in the gardens, or simply soaking in the excitement of the day.
  • From the moment you arrive, hair and makeup artists can fully settle in, ensuring you feel and look your best for the big moment.

Meanwhile…

  • Partner 2 can arrive partially or fully dressed around 11:30am and use the Honeymoon Suite for final preparations.
  • There’s time to take a quiet moment to reflect, walk the grounds for pre-wedding photos, or grab a drink in the Dickens Bar before guests start arriving.

This setup allows both partners to prepare separately while still enjoying the excitement of the venue before they come together at the ceremony.

Plan 2 – Getting Ready Together

More and more couples are choosing to spend the morning together, soaking up every moment of their wedding day from the very start.

  • You can both start the morning in the Dressing Room, sharing breakfast, music, and the buzz of getting ready with your closest friends.
  • Hair, makeup, and styling can all happen in the same space, creating a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.
  • When the time comes to get dressed, one partner could move to the Honeymoon Suite for that final transformation, leaving the ‘wow’ moment for when you meet at the aisle.

For couples who want to enjoy all the excitement of the morning together without losing that breathtaking first look, this option gives you the best of both worlds.

Plan 3 – A Bit of Both: The First Look

Some couples love the idea of seeing each other before the ceremony, but still want that special moment of surprise. That’s where a First Look comes in.

  • Following the traditional separate morning preparations, we can arrange for you to meet in a private, secluded spot on the grounds before the ceremony.
  • This moment is intimate, emotional, and beautifully romantic—just the two of you, away from the eyes of guests, soaking in the excitement together.
  • After the First Look, you’ll return to your separate spaces for the finishing touches before heading into the ceremony with full hearts.

This option is perfect for couples who want to calm pre-ceremony nerves while still having a dramatic moment walking down the aisle.

Plan 4 – Staying On-Site for the Ultimate Relaxed Morning

For couples who love the idea of waking up at Tyn Dwr Hall on their wedding day, we offer an exclusive option when there’s no wedding the night before. We can typically confirm this three months before the wedding.

  • You can book the Cottage and / or Coach House, arriving the night before to settle in and wake up right on-site.
  • The morning can start slowly and peacefully, with one of you staying in the accommodation or moving to the Dressing room while the other pops into town for breakfast with friends or family.
  • Once you return, rooms will be turned over by our team, and you can move into the Honeymoon suite or another room for the final part of your preparations.

This option is ideal for couples who want to eliminate any travel stress on the morning of their wedding, making the day feel even more effortless and enjoyable.
