At Tyn Dwr Hall we believe that every couple should have the best day of their lives with us and apart from a buying a house, your wedding is quite likely one of the biggest things you’ll ever pay for.
According to our friend’s over at Hitched, the average UK couple spent approximately £31,974 on their nuptials, we hope that included a LOT of fizz.
Now we don’t want anyone to panic, there are many ways in which you can make a Tyn Dwr Hall wedding affordable. Wedding offers, late availability and DIY décor, planning a wedding on a budget can be a breeze.
Below we’ll give you lots of wedding planning tips and inspiration to keep within budget and have enough left for your honeymoon of dreams!
The UK average figure above covers absolutely everything to do with your wedding; venue, catering, dresses, stationery, the planning list is endless. So do keep in mind that this figure can vary widely!
Whether you have already chosen Tyn Dwr as your exclusive wedding venue or you are planning a visit to see us soon (Contact us for availability!) our best advice would be to set out your plan early. 12 and 6 Month wedding checklists are the perfect pocket guide to your wedding planning. When to send your wedding invites, what to ask wedding suppliers, how many bottles of prosecco to order?!
Here at the Tyn Dwr Hall, our venue pricing is based on different wedding seasons. Prior to your appointment our Wedding Team will always create your bespoke wedding quote, this may be exactly what you were prepared for, if not, here are some excellent wedding tips to help you keep the cost down.
Track your Spending
Spreadsheets are your friend! You’ve given some thought to your wedding budget, now you need to stick to it. The simplest and most effective way to do this is to input everything into a spreadsheet. And we mean everything! Even those extra packets of plasters & mints you buy for the ladies’ restroom!
Make sure you both have access and editing facilities. Set up cells for each spend – one with your budget and one with what you’ve spent to far. AutoSum at the end and you’re away!
Do it yourself!
The saying “something borrowed” has its advantages. You most probably have friends & family members that have already gotten married recently, with a lot of décor to spare! However big or small, it all adds up to making your day even more special.
The same goes for calling in favours, do you have an Aunt with a really posh car? How about asking a crafty friend how to make wedding invitations? FYI Nana’s make the most delicious cakes and we’ve often had a M&S Colin the Caterpillar!
Doing it yourself doesn’t need to be stressful. Invite a couple of friends around, open a bottle and get creative!
‘Off Peak’ Weddings
A Monday wedding in November can be just as special as a Saturday in August. Giving your guests plenty of time to make plans is key. Save the dates can be sent up to 12 months before the wedding, allowing guests time to organise annual leave from their workplace.
On top of a lower venue hire price, chances are wedding suppliers will also have reduced fees for the days in less demand. It’s also a lot more likely that your favorite photographer will be available for a Tuesday in October, but fully booked for the Summer months.
We know that many couples have their heart set on a Summer wedding, but having a mid-week wedding won’t make it any less amazing. Being flexible with dates just means you can get more creative!
Whilst guests are keeping toasty out by our fire pit, why not provide them with smores? Autumnal and Winter décor is stylish and so easy to recreate yourselves. Think pumpkins, candlelight and cosy blankets. Let’s not forget the Mulled wine for reception drinks!
