International Women’s Week is a moment to recognise the impact women have across every industry.
At Tyn Dwr Hall, it’s something we see every single day.
Weddings are emotional, fast-moving, detail-filled occasions. They require calm leadership, intuition, organisation, creativity and a genuine care for people. And here at the Hall, many of the people guiding those moments just happen to be remarkable women.
From the leadership of the venue to the team quietly working behind the scenes, women play a huge role in shaping the experience couples and their guests feel when they arrive.
At the centre of it all is Tracey Owen, our owner and General Manager.
Tracey has overseen the transformation of Tyn Dwr Hall into the venue it is today, bringing vision, determination and an incredible eye for detail. Running a wedding venue requires constant decision-making, resilience and the ability to keep everything moving — often while ensuring couples still feel completely supported and cared for.
That balance between strength and warmth sets the tone for everything that happens here.
Planning a wedding is a big moment in people’s lives, and it takes the right people to guide couples through it.
Our Senior Weddings and Communications Manager, Shannon, has been part of Tyn Dwr Hall for many years and is very much the backbone of the wedding team. For countless couples, Shannon is one of the very first voices they hear and one of the familiar faces guiding them right through to the big day. There’s a calm confidence that comes with experience, and Shannon brings that to every conversation. Whether she’s answering questions, sharing ideas, or helping couples visualise how their day might unfold, she plays a huge role in shaping the journey long before the wedding day itself arrives.
On the day itself, much of the magic is overseen by our Wedding Managers, Liv and Amy. Their role is part organiser, part problem-solver and part calm presence. They coordinate timelines, manage suppliers, guide guests and ensure everything runs seamlessly, often anticipating needs before anyone else has even noticed them.
Behind the scenes, Lydia, our Assistant Operations Manager, helps keep all dining requirements planned perfectly. From logistics to operational detail, she ensures the many moving parts work together effortlessly and the delicious part of the day is enjoyed.
A wedding day is shaped not just by planning, but by the atmosphere couples and guests feel from the moment they arrive.
Our housekeeping team, Claire and Amy, play an essential role in preparing the Hall — ensuring every room, every detail and every space feels welcoming and cared for. Plus Amy plays an integral part in the dining team, serving and managing service.
Beyond that, our team of servers, bar staff and waiting-on staff bring warmth, professionalism and energy to every celebration. They’re the ones greeting guests, delivering food and drinks, sharing laughter across the bar and helping create the relaxed, joyful atmosphere that makes weddings feel truly special.
Hospitality and weddings require something more than just organisation.
They require emotional intelligence.
Understanding when someone needs reassurance.
Sensing when a couple might be feeling nervous.
Quietly stepping in to smooth over a moment before it becomes a problem.
These are often described as “soft skills”, but anyone who works in weddings knows they are anything but soft. They require strength, awareness and an instinct for caring about people.
It’s something many women naturally bring into the spaces they lead.
Of course, weddings are always a team effort, and we’re proud of everyone who contributes to making celebrations here so special.
But during International Women’s Week, it feels right to take a moment to recognise the incredible women who help shape life at Tyn Dwr Hall — from leadership and planning to hospitality and care.
Their dedication, creativity and attention to detail are woven into every wedding we host.
And it’s their warmth and professionalism that help turn a beautiful venue into a place where memories are made.
