Trends We’ve Loved to See This Year So Far

With 2024 in full swing, we’ve had the absolute joy of witnessing some truly beautiful trends unfold at Tyn Dwr Hall. From modern twists on tradition to bold, personality-filled styling choices, weddings this year have been more unique, vibrant, and heartfelt than ever.

As we step into the second half of the year, here’s a look at some of the wedding trends we’ve absolutely loved so far—ones that are shaping the way couples celebrate their love in 2024.

The Rise of the ‘Anti-Traditional’ Wedding

While some couples love a classic, formal wedding, we’re seeing more and more couples ditch traditions that don’t feel like ‘them’—and we love it!

    • Personal Vows Over Traditional Speeches – More couples are choosing intimate, handwritten vows instead of the usual “repeat after me” script.
    • Mixed Wedding Parties – Groomsmaids, bridesmen, and no set ‘sides’—wedding parties are becoming more about who you love, rather than traditional roles.
    • Walking Down the Aisle Together – Some couples are ditching the ‘grand reveal’ and walking in together as a symbol of unity and partnership.

Vibrant Colour Palettes Taking Over

While soft pastels and neutrals will always be timeless, 2024 has been the year of bold, vibrant colour!

    • Jewel-Toned Florals – Couples are embracing deep blues, emerald greens, burnt oranges, and magenta pinks for stunning statement florals.
    • Colour-Blocked Styling – Some weddings have used one bold colour per table, creating a stunning rainbow effect throughout the reception.
    • Unexpected Pops of Colour – From bridesmaids in mismatched bright hues to coloured wedding dresses, we’re seeing couples have fun with their colour palettes in new and exciting ways.

Elevated, Editorial-Style Floral Arrangements

Floral styling has taken a step up this year, with more couples opting for modern, sculptural floral designs that look like they belong on a magazine cover.

  • Minimalist Statement Blooms – Instead of huge, mixed arrangements, we’re seeing more focal florals, like tall orchids, cala lilies, and single-bloom bouquets.
  • Ground-Level Floral Installations – Rather than traditional archways, many couples are using low floral arrangements for a more editorial, chic look.
  • Hanging Floral Moments – From floral chandeliers to floating installations above reception tables, florals are going upward!

The Rise of Wedding Content Creators

While professional photographers are still an absolute must, couples are also hiring ‘wedding content creators’—someone who captures the day in a more relaxed, behind-the-scenes style for instant social media content.
Think iPhone videos, candid reels, and TikTok-worthy clips—giving couples quick, beautiful footage to relive their day while they wait for their professional shots. We love how this trend lets couples see their wedding from a guest’s perspective, capturing all those unfiltered, raw, and joyful moments.

Multi-Day Celebrations & Extended Wedding Weekends

Why limit the celebrations to just one day when you can have an entire wedding weekend? More couples are making the most of their time with guests by stretching out the celebrations.

  • Welcome Parties & Rehearsal Dinners – From casual drinks the night before to intimate rehearsal dinners, couples are easing into the festivities early.
  • Post-Wedding Brunches – A chance to keep the celebrations going and enjoy one last meal together before heading home.
  • Adventure Activities – Some couples are incorporating fun, group activities like hikes, boat rides, or spa days as part of their wedding experience.

We can offer Wedding weekends between October – March or three months before we can offer a night before stay (if available) which can include a delicious supper and the opportunity to have a pre-wedding dinner. If we don’t have the day before don’t worry! We can suggest some wonderful spaces 5 minutes today where you could gather and enjoy time before or after the wedding.

Interactive & Personalised Guest Experiences

Couples are putting their guests at the heart of the experience, adding interactive and thoughtful touches to make them feel truly included.

  • Live Artists & Illustrators – We’ve loved seeing guests receive live-painted portraits or illustrated keepsakes to take home.
  • Themed Cocktail Bars – From espresso martini stations to make-your-own gin bars, drinks are becoming an experience rather than just a menu.
  • Audio Guestbooks – Instead of traditional guestbooks, couples are using vintage phones where guests leave recorded messages as a keepsake.
  • Song Requests for the Reception – Some couples are letting guests submit song requests with their RSVPs, ensuring the dance floor is always full!

Wedding Fashion That Breaks the Rules.

2025 has been a big year for pushing wedding fashion boundaries—from colourful wedding dresses to bold suit choices, couples are making their wedding attire personal and unique.

  • Non-Traditional Wedding Dresses – We’ve seen colourful gowns, short bridal dresses, and even bridal jumpsuits making a statement.
  • Mismatched Bridesmaids & Groomsmen – Couples are letting their wedding party pick outfits that suit their personality rather than matching everyone exactly.
  • Statement Accessories – From opera gloves to pearl-adorned veils, wedding fashion is getting bolder and more exciting.
