At Tyn Dwr Hall, we know that pets are part of the family. That’s why we’re always happy to welcome your four-legged companion to be part of your special day — whether they’re walking down the aisle, posing for pictures or even playing ring bearer!
But while we love seeing dogs dressed in bow ties and flower crowns as much as anyone, we’re also mindful that weddings can be overwhelming — especially for animals.
That’s why we’ve put together some thoughtful guidance to help you involve your pet in a way that’s joyful, stress-free, and safe for everyone involve
When Can Your Dog Join the Day?
We allow your dog to join you just before the ceremony and stay for the all-important photos afterwards. Whether they’re accompanying you down the aisle or simply trotting behind you with a wagging tail, we’ll make sure they’re part of the moment.
After that, we recommend they return home or to a carer. Here’s why:
Lots of new smells and sounds can leave even the calmest pup feeling anxious.
Large groups of people can be confusing or overwhelming for animals.
Food, drink and dogs don’t mix well — especially at a celebration with canapés and cocktails!
Once the meal begins, it’s far better for your dog to be curled up somewhere quiet, well-fed and fussed over by someone who can look after them.
To make this smooth and stress-free, we suggest hiring a trusted dog sitter or professional pet chaperone who can manage walks, water, poops — and cuddles — while you enjoy your day.
A Few Practical Notes
We welcome the couples dogs only.
Dogs are not permitted to stay overnight in the venue or accommodation. As much as we adore them, we’ve found that:
Unfamiliar places can make them unsettled or destructive.
Our antique and bespoke furniture can be easily damaged.
Many of our guests have pet allergies, and we want every visitor to enjoy a comfortable stay.
Thinking Beyond Dogs?
We’ve had everything from Alpacas to Birds of Prey, and even the occasional horse on site — but if you’re planning something unique, please speak to our Wedding Team in advance. We’ll always consider it, so long as it’s in the best interests of the animal and your guests.
Making It Work for Everyone
Our approach is simple: we want you to enjoy magical moments with your beloved pet — without worrying about their comfort, safety, or the logistics of the day. By limiting their involvement to the best bits and keeping their wellbeing in mind, you can focus on your celebration while knowing they’re in good hands.
After all, a happy pet makes for even happier photos.
